An 18-year-old man from Battle Creek lost his life in a single-vehicle rollover crash early Monday morning.
The accident occurred shortly after 1 a.m. on Irving Park Drive. Emergency responders transported the young man and a 17-year-old female passenger to a local hospital. The female passenger remains hospitalized with serious injuries.
Authorities report that another 18-year-old man from Battle Creek was driving the vehicle. Both passengers were hanging out of the windows when the vehicle rolled over, leading to their ejection. The driver was unharmed and is currently held at the Calhoun County Jail. He faces charges including driving while intoxicated and reckless driving causing death, as well as driving while intoxicated and reckless driving causing serious injury.
