Suspect Apprehended in Lansing Following September Incident |
In a significant development, authorities have apprehended a suspect in connection with the triple shooting that occurred at the #1 Legends Club in Battle Creek on September 15.
Following an extensive investigation by the Battle Creek Police Department's Gang Suppression Unit, Rickeem Dawaun McClinton, 26, was identified as the alleged shooter. The incident unfolded in the club's parking lot shortly after 1 a.m., leaving three individuals injured.
The victims, all treated at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, included a 45-year-old Battle Creek man with a gunshot wound to his back, a 28-year-old Battle Creek man shot in the leg, and a 37-year-old Springfield woman also wounded in the leg.
On October 9, the Battle Creek Police GSU, in collaboration with the Michigan State Police First District Fugitive Team and the U.S. Marshals Service, located and arrested McClinton in Lansing. He was subsequently transported to the Calhoun County Jail.
McClinton has been arraigned on multiple charges, including three counts of aggravated assault with intent to murder, three counts of felony firearm possession, and one count of felon in possession of a firearm. Bond has been set at $100,000 cash or surety.
This arrest underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to address violent incidents in the community and bring those responsible to justice.
