Dozens of Tails Found Their Happy Endings at Battle Creek Adoption Events

From long-timers to new arrivals, pets found forever families—and now we’re looking for a partner to help keep the momentum going.

August 9 was a day to remember for animal lovers across Battle Creek.

On opposite ends of the city, the Calhoun County Animal Center and the Humane Society of South Central Michigan each held adoption events—and the results were nothing short of amazing.

From Snickers, Ed, and Tillie, to Nova, Grace, Hulk, Snow White, Chewy, Bonnie, and so many more—dozens of cats and dogs finally found the forever homes they’ve been waiting for.

Some were long-time residents who had been patiently waiting for their chance, while others were newer arrivals who quickly won over their new families.

These events not only highlighted the incredible work both shelters do every day but also showed how much our community cares.

Thank you to everyone who came out, supported the vendors, met the pets, and gave these furry friends their second chance.

At The Battle Creek Buzz, we celebrate these stories every week in our Homeward Bound section, where we feature adoptable cats and dogs still waiting for their families.
