Battle Creek’s KCC Earns National Workplace Honor
Compensation and benefits recognition reflects employee survey results

Kellogg Community College has earned national workplace recognition through the 2026 Great Colleges to Work For program.
The Battle Creek-based college was the only Michigan institution included among this year’s honorees and one of six recognized across the Great Lakes region.
KCC also stood among 22 two-year colleges in a national group of 76 recognized institutions.
The college received distinction in the Compensation and Benefits category, which reflects employees’ views about fair pay, adequate benefits and whether they feel valued at work.
That category matters locally because community colleges compete for skilled instructors, administrators and support staff while serving students across a wide mix of academic and workforce programs.
The recognition program evaluated participating colleges through an institutional questionnaire and a survey of faculty, administrators, maintenance employees and support staff.
Employee feedback was the primary factor in deciding which institutions received recognition.
The 2026 survey was open to accredited U.S. colleges with enrollment of at least 500 students.
KCC’s latest honor marks its fourth appearance in the Great Colleges to Work For program after recognition in 2022, 2023 and 2025.
The repeat recognition points to workplace culture as an ongoing institutional priority rather than a one-time campaign.
KCC’s public employee benefits information describes medical, vision, dental, life and disability coverage, wellness activities, leave, tuition support and professional development.
The college operates its main campus and regional locations, so its hiring and retention practices can influence education and workforce development across several communities.
The Great Colleges to Work For program is now in its 19th year and focuses on workplace practices and the organizational conditions that shape employment in higher education.
For residents, the award offers a closer look at an institution that is both a major local employer and a provider of transfer, technical and continuing-education opportunities.
Prospective applicants can review KCC employment opportunities, while current or future employees can consult the college’s Human Resources pages for benefit details.
