Burma Center Celebrates 15 Years With Community Friendraiser
The free October 16 gathering features food, entertainment and a silent auction

The Burma Center will celebrate 15 years of community service with its 2026 Annual Friendraiser on Friday, October 16, in Springfield.
The event begins at 5 p.m. at the Burma Center, 765 Upton Avenue.
Admission is free and the gathering is open to the community, but organizers require advance registration.
The evening will include food, entertainment and a silent auction.
This year's Friendraiser is designed as both a milestone celebration and an invitation for neighbors to learn more about the organization.
The Burma Center describes the Friendraiser as its largest annual fundraising event.
Its work focuses on building a more equitable and inclusive Battle Creek while recognizing the contributions of Burmese Americans to the region.
The anniversary marks 15 years of service, partnership and community-building.
Organizers expect the celebration to welcome as many as 400 guests.
They chose not to sell general-admission tickets so families, elders, young people, community partners and supporters can take part without a ticket-price barrier.
A suggested donation is appreciated, and sponsorship support helps cover the cost of hosting the free gathering.
Guests can reserve a place through the Friendraiser RSVP page.
Because registration is required, anyone planning to attend should sign up before capacity is reached.
The program brings celebration and practical support for the Burma Center's mission into the same room.
The food and entertainment create a welcoming setting, while the silent auction and optional giving opportunities support continued community programs.
The center's broader work includes language access, education and career support, health and wellness services, leadership development and family empowerment.
Those services help residents navigate daily systems while strengthening cultural connection and community participation.
The Springfield location serves Battle Creek and the wider Calhoun County area.
Visitors unfamiliar with the center can use the event as a comfortable introduction to its staff, supporters and community role.
The official event page remains the best place to check registration and program updates.
