Honolulu House Lantern Tours Return October 17

Marshall’s Honolulu House will dim the modern lights and let lanterns set the scene for an evening of local history on Saturday, October 17.

The Honolulu House Lantern Tours will begin at 7 and 8 p.m. at 107 North Kalamazoo Avenue in downtown Marshall.

During each guided visit, electric lights will be turned off so guests can experience the rooms by candlelight while hearing documented stories about the people who lived there.

The Marshall Historical Society event calendar emphasizes that this is not a ghost tour.

The atmosphere may feel uncanny, but the presentation is grounded in real history rather than invented scares.

Admission is $20 per person, and each group is limited to 25 guests to preserve the intimate character of the experience.

The Choose Marshall event listing confirms the October 17 program runs from 7 to 9 p.m.

The Honolulu House Museum stands in Marshall’s National Historic Landmark District and is known for its unusual blend of Italianate, Gothic Revival and Polynesian-inspired design.

Built in 1860, the house later became a museum and the headquarters of the Marshall Historical Society.

The Calhoun County Visitors Bureau offers additional background for anyone planning a longer visit to Marshall.

Visitors can also open the Honolulu House location in Google Maps before traveling.

When are the Honolulu House Lantern Tours?

How much do Honolulu House Lantern Tours cost?

Is the Honolulu House Lantern Tour a ghost tour?

No; organizers describe it as a candlelit presentation of documented Marshall history, not a ghost tour.
