Housing Solutions for Battle Creek: Free Public Forum on Sept. 22 |
Community Invited to Discuss Housing Challenges and Opportunities |
The City of Battle Creek is organizing a pivotal public forum to address the pressing housing challenges facing our community.
Scheduled for September 22, 2025, the event will be held at the Kool Family Community Center, located at 200 W. Michigan Avenue.
Residents have the option to attend one of two sessions: the morning session from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., or the evening session from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Both sessions are free and open to the public.
Leading the discussion will be Ryan Kilpatrick, a renowned housing expert, who will provide insights into the current housing landscape and facilitate a conversation on tailored solutions for Battle Creek.
Attendees will engage in interactive activities designed to foster collaboration and generate actionable ideas specific to our community's needs.
In recent years, Battle Creek has experienced a growing demand for affordable and diverse housing options.
This forum aims to address these challenges by exploring opportunities for neighborhood reinvestment and new developments that support working families.
Topics to be covered include the current state of housing, available tools and resources, and avenues for community involvement.
Food and refreshments will be provided during the sessions.
The event welcomes residents, local officials, developers, nonprofit partners, business leaders, and community advocates.
