Inferno Strikes Battle Creek Big Boy: Blaze Turns Restaurant to Ashes

A Big Boy restaurant on West Columbia Avenue near Helmer Road caught fire Thursday morning, prompting a swift response from the Battle Creek Fire Department.
Crews were dispatched around 10:20 a.m. and arrived to find heavy smoke and visible flames. Restaurant staff were already in the process of evacuating customers when firefighters arrived.
Firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control, preventing it from spreading further. They also worked to ventilate the building and remove lingering smoke.
According to officials, the fire originated in a rear storage area.
Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
The restaurant will remain closed temporarily while repairs are made. |
