Battle Creek police are investigating a reported shooting near South McKinley Avenue and Capital Avenue NE on September 23.
According to the city's September 24 report, officers responded at 4:10 p.m. A 53-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman, both Battle Creek residents, said someone they knew fired at them after a disagreement about money.
Neither person was injured. Police said the individual left on foot before officers arrived and was not found. The department described the incident as isolated, with no continuing public threat identified in that announcement.
Investigators planned to submit a warrant request to the Calhoun County Prosecutor's Office. The announcement did not report an arrest or filed charges.
