An 18-year-old Battle Creek man is in critical condition following a shooting at the Sunset Party Store located at 515 W. Michigan Avenue. The incident occurred in the early morning hours of Saturday, August 8, 2026.

 

According to the Battle Creek Police Department, officers responded to reports of gunfire around 1:30 a.m. Police officers in the area also heard the shots and were able to respond quickly to the scene.
