The Magic Cabin Brings Six Magicians to Marshall
October 24 family show supports the American Museum of Magic while showcasing illusions, mentalism and escape artistry

Six southern Michigan magicians are preparing to turn a Marshall stage into an afternoon of illusions, mentalism and escape artistry.
The Magic Cabin will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 24, at Great Escape Stage Company, 110 E. Michigan Ave. in downtown Marshall.
The family-friendly performance is expected to run about two hours with one intermission.
Scheduled performers include Eric Sullivan, Phillip Hagerty, Rachel Dupuis, Stephen Carns, Gene Davis and master of ceremonies John Sherwood.
The lineup spans several generations and several styles of magic, giving families a chance to see large illusions, sleight of hand, mentalism and Houdini-inspired escapes in one show.
Battle Creek native Stephen Carns is known for mentalism, while Hagerty performs as Le Grand Wysard Phillip and builds large-scale illusions.
Dupuis performs as Leia Spade, Davis appears as Dr. Magic, and Sherwood brings formal training from the Chavez Studio of Magic.
The performers are connected through Neil Foster Ring No. 89 of the International Brotherhood of Magicians.
The group began decades ago as the Battle Creek Magic Club and has maintained a close relationship with Marshall’s American Museum of Magic since about 2011.
A portion of the show’s proceeds will support infrastructure repairs and upgrades at the museum, including its downtown building and the Lund Memorial Library property.
General admission is $15, with $10 tickets available for students and military veterans.
Reservations can be made through the Great Escape box office at 269-781-2700, and tickets are also expected to be available at the door.
The show offers more than an afternoon of entertainment because every ticket also helps preserve Marshall’s nationally recognized magic history.
Great Escape’s official event page confirms the October 24 date, 2 p.m. curtain, two-hour running time and $15 general admission price.
