Kellogg Community College's initiative provides essential resources and support to incoming students at no cost. |
Kellogg Community College (KCC) is now accepting applications for its Kellogg Kickstart program, a free initiative designed to help new students prepare for college.
This program is open to individuals planning to enroll in Fall 2025 classes who have not achieved a C grade or better in college-level English or math. A high school diploma or GED is required for participation.
The Summer 2025 Kellogg Kickstart program will run from 1 to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, starting July 8 and concluding August 14, at KCC's campus located at 450 North Avenue in Battle Creek.
Participants will complete KCC’s First Year Seminar course and Learning Technologies Readiness, fulfilling academic advising requirements. They will also receive a stipend in Visa gift cards, a free meal each class day, and all necessary course materials at no cost. Additionally, students will have access to a laptop during the program.
Interested individuals can apply online. For more information, contact KCC’s Center for Student Success at 269-660-2296 or css@kellogg.edu.
In addition to the Kickstart program, KCC offers various free job training programs through its Innovative Accelerated Credentialed Training (iACT) initiative and the Michigan Learning and Education Advancement Program (MiLEAP). These programs provide rapid training in fields such as manufacturing, health care, and office procedures, aiming to equip participants with skills for immediate employment opportunities.
Furthermore, KCC has recently expanded its advanced manufacturing and electric vehicle (EV) training programs. In collaboration with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), KCC has become the first college in the United States to implement a fully integrated enterprise training system using FANUC CRX-5iA Collaborative Robots. This initiative aims to prepare students for high-tech roles in the evolving manufacturing industry.
These efforts reflect KCC's commitment to providing accessible education and training opportunities to the Battle Creek community, supporting both academic success and workforce development. |
