Dr Ver Steeg learned early in his life what a difference plastic surgery can make in someone’s life. One friend with a cleft palate was helped by a plastic surgeon. Additionally, Dr Ver Steeg finds the field of plastic surgery quite intellectually stimulating. Dr Ver Steeg has a special interest in reconstructive surgeries including facial trauma, breast reconstruction, skin cancer surgery and wound care.

Theresa “Teri” wanted to be a nurse for most of her life. She spent 15 years as a registered nurse and while it was very rewarding, she felt like she wanted to do more. She chose to become a nurse practitioner to have a bigger impact on patients and their families. She loves the challenge of working with patients to set reasonable goals that work for them and their health needs. These goals usually go hand in hand with good education to ensure the patient understands what their condition is and why these goals are important. Healthcare can be incredibly intimidating and if Teri is able to help them feel less scared or frustrated, she feels that she has achieved her goal.

I really want people to feel comfortable understanding their diagnosis. I try to take my time with my patients and answer any questions they may have. I want them to feel informed. That helps the patient make the best decision concerning their healthcare.
