Julia started her career in Rheumatology nearly 11 years ago with the hope to help numerous patients with chronic, painful conditions live a more functional life. Julia has a passion for Osteoporosis as it is significantly underdiagnosed and undertreated throughout the country; she enjoys coming to work and being an advocate for her patient’s needs. In her free time, Julia is the President of the Society of Physician Associates in Rheumatology (SPAR) where they advocate for PA advancement and improvement of health of patients with rheumatologic conditions.

Pulmonary and critical care medicine is a broad field that fit perfectly into Dr Smith’s interests. He enjoys the fast paced and high stakes style of critical care medicine, but also loves the challenge of providing detailed and nuanced care in pulmonary medicine. He tries to use his skills to help people feel better—these fields allow him to do just that. Dr Smith feels fortunate to work in fields that allow him to make a major difference in people’s lives over the course of just one day; a field where can see a person that is short of breath in the morning breathing easier by the afternoon. Dr Smith says that his parents have been the biggest influence in his life.

Audrey chose a career as a physician assistant because it allowed her the opportunity to acquire a deep understanding of medicine and use that knowledge to provide care to the community. And, while her family was filled with many artists and musicians, she was always encouraged to pursue medicine, making that passion her career. Audrey especially appreciates the opportunity to get to know her patients and learning new ways to deliver the care they need. With hearing loss prevalent on her mother’s side of her family, the care and technology around hearing loss has long held a special place in Audrey’s heart.

The question that is always running through my mind whenever I meet with a patient is, ‘how can I help them?’ I always want to have the patient on the same page whenever we’re talking. If I sense that they’re not, I try to back up and give them more information.
