Audrey chose a career as a physician assistant because it allowed her the opportunity to acquire a deep understanding of medicine and use that knowledge to provide care to the community. And, while her family was filled with many artists and musicians, she was always encouraged to pursue medicine, making that passion her career. Audrey especially appreciates the opportunity to get to know her patients and learning new ways to deliver the care they need. With hearing loss prevalent on her mother’s side of her family, the care and technology around hearing loss has long held a special place in Audrey’s heart.

The question that is always running through my mind whenever I meet with a patient is, ‘how can I help them?’ I always want to have the patient on the same page whenever we’re talking. If I sense that they’re not, I try to back up and give them more information.

In medical school, Dr White was immediately drawn to surgery, but also wanted to have the opportunity to build relationships with his patients. The field of ENT allows him the ability to do both. He loves what he does. The ability to help people on a daily basis, both in the office and in the operating room, is very fulfilling. Dr White is thankful for the many mentors that have guided him during the course of his career, but his wife and parents have had the deepest and most meaningful impact on his life. He is intent on serving as a mentor for other medical students and residents, as well. His participation in numerous medical mission trips is another way he can give back.

After becoming an Army medic, I decided that I wanted a career in the medical field. Becoming a physician assistant allowed me to increase my medical knowledge that, in turn, allowed me to provide better care to my soldiers. I credit my mother as one of the individuals who most influenced my life. She grew up in poverty in El Salvador but managed to get a degree. She made the decision to move the family to the United States, allowing us to have greater opportunities and a better life than would have been available otherwise. This is another reason why I enjoy the chance to welcome new patients, assist in improving their quality of life and listen to their individual stories.

It’s all about individual patient care and providing each patient with the right care at the right time. A patient is not just the next person in line, but an individual with specific needs.

Mary is dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care that considers all aspects of a patient's physical, spiritual and social well-being. With a specialty in palliative care, she focuses on pain and symptom management, helping patients and their families navigate complex medical journeys with comfort and dignity. Early in her career, Mary worked in a bone marrow transplant unit. This allowed her to see firsthand the importance of building strong relationships with patients and their loved ones. This experience shaped her approach to medicine, emphasizing the power of connection and holistic support.
