Cyndy’s interest in genetic counseling is a personal one. It began when her grandmother was diagnosed with cancer, and since then, she has been driven to help others understand their health risks and options. Initially, she had an interest in cancer research, however, soon found that her passion was in education, counseling and patient advocacy. Her decision to work in oncology genetic counseling was solidified while working in a genetics laboratory the year before BRCA1, the first breast cancer gene, was discovered. Cyndy’s special interests are in breast and prostate cancer genetics. I am passionate about preventative care and assisting in medical decisions tailored to the individual needs and situation of each patient.

She understood how important movement is to a person’s life and career and she wanted to help others recover from, prevent injuries and be more in tune with their own body. Dollie has been influenced most by her mother who gave her the opportunity to pursue her education and suggested she look into a career as a physical therapist. She enjoys coming to work every day knowing she can improve her patients’ quality of life. In her free time, Dollie enjoys learning new languages and new skills.
