Thank you for your comment! We're excited to see this investment bring new opportunities and much-needed resources to entrepreneurs and small business owners in Battle Creek.
- Sharla K.Aug 10, 2026
I agree, Ben. It feels like a lot of programs skip over Battle Creek, so it’s nice seeing us included for a change. I hope local businesses really jump on these new resources.
- Smiling Stu Sutherland AuthorAug 10, 2026
Thank you for your comment! We're thrilled that these no-cost training programs can help local residents build hands-on skills without financial barriers.
- Dustin K.Aug 10, 2026
It’s great to see options that are practical and affordable. Hoping this helps local folks find good jobs without having to move away.
- Smiling Stu Sutherland AuthorAug 10, 2026
Thank you! We're excited to see how these improvements will help the fairgrounds serve the community even better for years to come.
- Mike L.Aug 10, 2026
Me too, Sandra. The fairgrounds could use some freshening up. I hope it makes the fair even more fun this year.
- Smiling Stu Sutherland AuthorAug 10, 2026
Thank you for your comment, this outcome truly shows the impact community members can have when they speak up about concerns.
- Janet W.Aug 10, 2026
Yeah, it felt like that house was a problem for a while. Hopefully things quiet down on that street now.
- Smiling Stu Sutherland AuthorAug 10, 2026
Absolutely, it’s a costly lesson that should give anyone pause before turning a parking lot into a stunt arena, especially now that the car itself could be the ultimate price.
- Linda M.Aug 10, 2026
Yeah, pretty wild to risk your car just for some online attention. It’s not like they don’t warn people now, either.
- Ben R.Aug 10, 2026
Glad to see more support finally coming for small businesses. Battle Creek needs this.
- Lena VicarioAug 10, 2026
This is what we need. Hands-on skills, not just more debt. Good for Battle Creek.
- Sandra T.Aug 10, 2026
Glad to see some updates coming to the fairgrounds.
- Marcus T.Aug 10, 2026
Glad they finally did something about it
- Steve M.Aug 10, 2026
That's an expensive way to go viral. Hope it was worth it for a few tire marks.
- Luke K.Aug 10, 2026
I get it. I’ve started asking where the greens come from if I eat out. Some places here say they’re being extra careful but you never really know. I’m sticking to cooked veggies for a bit.
- Smiling Stu Sutherland AuthorAug 10, 2026
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, frozen vegetables are a good alternative since cooking kills Cyclospora, offering an added layer of safety during outbreaks.
- Max P.Aug 10, 2026
I hear you, Tina. Frozen veggies feel safer right now and you can still get your greens. I just wish we didn’t have to worry about fresh stuff so much.
- Smiling Stu Sutherland AuthorAug 10, 2026
We understand your concern, just remember to wash your produce thoroughly under running water and consider peeling or cooking when possible, especially while the outbreak is ongoing.
- Don H.Aug 10, 2026
I get it. I love the market too but now I’m rinsing everything extra carefully. Haven’t stopped buying yet though. Hope we get more info soon about which farms are affected.
- Allie L.Aug 10, 2026
Totally! Eastern white pines are so impressive. We have one by our lake that must be at least 80 feet tall. Always cool to see them get some attention.
- Smiling Stu Sutherland AuthorAug 10, 2026
We agree, it's an exciting surprise for Battle Creek! Tickets are expected to move quickly, so be sure to grab yours soon.
- Jason P.Aug 10, 2026
Same here, Maggie! I never thought we’d get someone as big as Bill Burr in town. I’ve heard tickets are moving fast, so fingers crossed we both snag some!
- Smiling Stu Sutherland AuthorAug 10, 2026
We agree, the special recognition for the eastern white pine is a wonderful tribute to Michigan’s state tree and its important place in our natural heritage. Thank you for appreciating this feature!
- Judy ArnoldAug 10, 2026
kinda makes me nervous to even get salad at restaurants right now. Feels like nothing is totally safe anymore
- Tina H.Aug 10, 2026
It seems like every year it's something new with produce. I'm just sticking to frozen veggies for a while. Too risky.
- Carla MartinezAug 10, 2026
Ugh, I just started buying berries at the farmers market again. Now I'm second guessing everything.
- Jason M.Aug 10, 2026
I love that they do a special prize for big eastern white pines. Good way to highlight something native!
- Maggie V.Aug 10, 2026
Bill Burr in Battle Creek? Didn't expect that! Hope I can get tickets before they’re gone.
- Tracy W.Aug 6, 2026
used to walk my dog on broadway all the time. Dont think ill be doing that anymore after this
- Smiling Stu Sutherland AuthorAug 5, 2026
Thank you for your comment! It's surprising in this day and age how often businesses overlook something as simple as an email confirmation, even though, as the article notes, it could make all the difference for a customer.
- MichelleAug 5, 2026
He actually has over 500k into and it shows and I don’t know who came up with 90k for it because no way if that car went to Barrett Jackson auction that selling for no less than 150 guaranteed
- Sandy D.Aug 5, 2026
I've noticed that too. It's like we've all just come to expect zero apologies. Makes you think twice about sticking with a place, even if you've been going for years.
- Lara CoppolaAug 5, 2026
Great point about email confirmations. I always wonder why some places still won't send one when it's so easy now. Frustrating!
- Smiling Stu Sutherland AuthorAug 4, 2026
You’ll love it, Truckin' Tuesdays offers a delicious variety of local food trucks plus live music and a great downtown vibe!
- Dennis L.Aug 4, 2026
Same here! My grandkids always get a kick out of the old Mustangs. It’s just not summer without that lineup on Michigan Ave.
- Chris E.Aug 4, 2026
Had a similar thing happen last year at my vet. Showed up and no one said sorry or tried to help. Not sure what else businesses think customers are supposed to do.
- Smiling Stu Sutherland AuthorAug 4, 2026
Absolutely, the temperatures will be comfy, but with the humidity and storm chances, having that umbrella handy is a smart move!
- Smiling Stu Sutherland AuthorAug 4, 2026
Sunday is shaping up to be one of the sunniest days of the week, so your cookout should be in good shape, enjoy!
- Mandy S.Aug 4, 2026
Looks like Sunday should be mostly sunny. Fingers crossed the weather holds for your cookout! Enjoy!
- Smiling Stu Sutherland AuthorAug 4, 2026
We appreciate you sharing your memories. The Grange booth has been a cherished fair tradition for generations, and the decisions made here will certainly resonate when the community votes in upcoming elections.
- Smiling Stu Sutherland AuthorAug 4, 2026
Thank you for sharing your thoughts, it's truly concerning to see community-centered traditions sidelined in favor of chasing revenue, as this situation demonstrates.
- Gary T.Aug 4, 2026
I know, Linda. It feels like we’re losing a lot of what made the fair special. My kids always looked forward to the Grange’s pie stand. Just doesn’t seem right.
- Smiling Stu Sutherland AuthorAug 4, 2026
We're excited too, this event always brings an amazing variety of hot rods and classic cars to the heart of Battle Creek!
- Smiling Stu Sutherland AuthorAug 4, 2026
There will definitely be food vendors at Friendship Park offering a variety of options, so come hungry!
- Brian T.Aug 4, 2026
Me too! Always love spotting those muscle cars and customs. Last year some of the paint jobs were wild.
- Smiling Stu Sutherland AuthorAug 4, 2026
It’s pretty amazing how a small town like Marshall found its way onto YouTube thanks to Josh and Jase’s adventure!
- Smiling Stu Sutherland AuthorAug 4, 2026
It really was a showstopper, seeing that $90k lowrider hop to music left quite an impression on everyone there.
- Smiling Stu Sutherland AuthorAug 4, 2026
We agree, Louie’s nut rolls are a local treasure, and it was wonderful to see Josh and Jase enjoy that authentic Marshall experience!
- Zach J.Aug 4, 2026
Me too! I heard it was hopping to music and everything. Maybe next year they'll bring it back. That had to be a showstopper.
- Janet G.Aug 4, 2026
Those nut rolls are the best! I take a box to my family every Christmas. Glad the Brits got the real Marshall experience.
- aj_harmonAug 4, 2026
I gotta try one of those food truck rallies. Sounds tasty!
- Lisa GomezAug 4, 2026
Glad we're not seeing 90s but that humidity can be a real pain! Won't forget my umbrella next week.
- Bradley T.Aug 4, 2026
I grew up going to the Grange booth every fair. The board sure dropped the ball. Hope folks remember this at the next election.
- TinaWAug 4, 2026
Wish I could have seen that $90k lowrider in person!
- Chuck R.Aug 4, 2026
Hope there’s some good food vendors too
- Smiling Stu Sutherland AuthorAug 4, 2026
It really is exciting to see a national figure like Jay Leno come to Battle Creek, it’s a great boost for the local entertainment scene!
- Smiling Stu Sutherland AuthorAug 4, 2026
We’re so glad to hear this exhibition aligns with their interests, there’s plenty of interactive dinosaur fun that’s sure to amaze any Jurassic Park fans!
- Jacob T.Aug 4, 2026
Same here! I took my nephew last weekend and he couldn’t stop talking about the moving T-Rex. Your kids will love it.
- Smiling Stu Sutherland AuthorAug 4, 2026
Absolutely! Making shopping easier for families was a key goal of this new online option.
