New Rydables, baby animals, and interactive experiences await visitors this spring
Binder Park Zoo in Battle Creek is set to kick off its 2026 season on Earth Day, April 22, offering visitors an early opportunity to engage with the zoo's diverse animal exhibits.
According to the zoo's marketing manager, early spring is an ideal time to visit, as the animals are more active during cooler temperatures.
This season introduces several exciting additions, including motorized animal scooters known as "Rydables," allowing guests to navigate the zoo in a fun and unique way.
Animal enthusiasts will be delighted to meet the zoo's newest residents: a baby lemur and a baby sloth.
The zoo plans to host a naming contest for the baby sloth once the veterinary staff determines its gender.
In a significant development, the zoo is unveiling a reimagined space in its Africa exhibit, emphasizing conservation efforts.
This enhancement includes relocating the cheetahs to a new, specially designed habitat.
Visitors can look forward to interactive experiences such as feeding the cassowary grapes daily from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., guided by the education staff.
Additionally, the lion training experience offers a behind-the-scenes look at zookeepers training a male lion, available for a $10 ticket.
For those interested in more personal encounters, the zoo is introducing animal ambassador meet-and-greets in the classrooms, providing guests the chance to interact with animals not typically seen during regular visits.
Admission prices are as follows: adults (11-64) at $19.95, seniors (65+) at $17.95, children (2-10) at $16.95, and free entry for children under 2.
Zoo members enjoy complimentary admission.
