Kalamazoo-Battle Creek Airport Plans One-Week Commercial Flight Pause for Runway WorkKalamazoo-Battle Creek International Airport is planning a one-week pause in commercial air service while runway pavement and lighting work is completed.
The work affects travelers from Battle Creek, Calhoun County and the wider southwest Michigan region who use the airport for scheduled flights. Travelers should check their airline reservation and contact the airline directly before leaving for the airport.
The airport's airfield remains subject to changing construction conditions and aviation notices. For current airport information, visit the Kalamazoo-Battle Creek International Airport page. For directions, use Google Maps for the airport.
What travelers should do nowA temporary service interruption can affect more than a departure time. Travelers may need to consider airline rebooking, a different airport, ground transportation, hotel changes or connections.
Check directly with the airline operating your itinerary. Airlines, not third-party travel posts, can confirm a cancellation, waiver, reroute or baggage instruction for a specific reservation.
Why runway work affects serviceRunway pavement and lighting work can require changes to airfield operations. Safety notices and construction schedules can change, so the airport's official information remains the best local starting point.
Kalamazoo-Battle Creek International Airport is at 5235 Portage Road in Portage. Allow extra time and confirm terminal access before traveling.

Guess I’ll have to drive to Detroit now
It’s a good idea to check alternate airports during the service pause, safe travels to Detroit, and be sure to confirm your airline arrangements directly!
Josh V.Yeah, it’s always a pain when they do this. Grand Rapids might be another option if Detroit is too far.
