Endico Potatoes Inc. issues recall for frozen peas, carrots, and mixed vegetables due to potential contamination |
Endico Potatoes Inc., a company based in Mount Vernon, New York, has initiated a recall of its frozen peas and carrots, as well as mixed vegetables, due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.
The recall affects 2.5-pound clear plastic bags labeled under the Endico brand.
The specific products include:
Peas and Carrots: Lot 110625, produced on June 11, 2025, with a use-by date of June 10, 2027.
Mixed Vegetables: Lot 170625, produced on June 17, 2025, with a use-by date of June 16, 2027.
These products were distributed between July 18 and August 4, 2025, across several states, including New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Maryland, Florida, and Washington, D.C.
The potential contamination was discovered during routine sampling by Pennsylvania state officials, which revealed the presence of Listeria monocytogenes in the products.

Listeria monocytogenes is a bacterium that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections, particularly in young children, elderly individuals, and those with weakened immune systems.
Symptoms of listeriosis may include high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea.
In pregnant women, the infection can lead to miscarriages and stillbirths.
Consumers who have purchased the recalled products are advised not to consume them.
Instead, they should return the items to the place of purchase for a full refund.
