Dr Sophia Kolyvas feels being a physician is a calling and feels it is a blessing to be able to change lives every day. Pulmonary and critical care medicine is a broad field that fit perfectly into Dr Smith’s interests. He enjoys the fast paced and high stakes style of critical care medicine, but also loves the challenge of providing detailed and nuanced care in pulmonary medicine. He tries to use his skills to help people feel better—these fields allow him to do just that. Dr Smith feels fortunate to work in fields that allow him to make a major difference in people’s lives over the course of just one day; a field where can see a person that is short of breath in the morning breathing easier by the afternoon. Dr Jaswa went into medicine because he enjoys solving problems, studying marvels of the human body, and helping people. Dr Jaswa credits his parents as being his biggest influence. His mother always taught him the value of nobility of diligence and his father pushing him to maximize his potential. Dr Jaswa gets excited about coming to work and helping people live their lives to the fullest. Outside of work, Dr Jaswa enjoys spending time with his friends and family. And likes to work out, hiking and doing projects in his free time. When I take care of a patient, I try to think of them as a family member.

Cyndy’s interest in genetic counseling is a personal one. It began when her grandmother was diagnosed with cancer, and since then, she has been driven to help others understand their health risks and options. Initially, she had an interest in cancer research, however, soon found that her passion was in education, counseling and patient advocacy. Her decision to work in oncology genetic counseling was solidified while working in a genetics laboratory the year before BRCA1, the first breast cancer gene, was discovered. Cyndy’s special interests are in breast and prostate cancer genetics. I am passionate about preventative care and assisting in medical decisions tailored to the individual needs and situation of each patient.
