Eight-week project includes resurfacing, widening, and new paved shoulders from B Drive South to Boyd Road
Road construction on 6 Mile Road in Newton Township and Leroy Township begins Monday, April 20, 2026. The Calhoun County Road Department announced that crews will close the roadway to through traffic for approximately eight weeks.
The project covers 6 Mile Road from B Drive South to about 1,500 feet south of Boyd Road. Work includes crushing and reshaping the existing roadway, trenching and widening to add paved shoulders, and placing 3.5 inches of new hot-mix asphalt.
