Police said the vehicle was located in the possession of an adult man during an unrelated investigation.
Investigators later located the missing person deceased within Battle Creek city limits. The department said it was treating the case as a homicide and that the defendant was awaiting arraignment in Calhoun County District Court.
Why details remain limitedOpen murder is a charge, not a finding of guilt. The court process will determine the case, and a defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
