KCC Wins 10 NCMPR Medallion Awards in Battle Creek
College marketing work earns Gold, Silver and Bronze honors

Kellogg Community College has earned 10 District 3 Medallion Awards for marketing and communications work completed during the 2025–26 academic year.
The honors include three Gold, four Silver and three Bronze awards from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations.
Winners were announced on October 6th, 2026, during the organization’s District 3 conference in Madison, Wisconsin.
Gold awards recognized wall graphics in KCC’s new Registrar and Business Office vestibule, a summer-registration billboard and print advertisements promoting the college’s Associate in Fine Arts degrees.
The fine-arts campaign highlighted KCC’s music and visual-arts degree options, which are designed for students preparing to transfer or build professional portfolios.
Silver awards went to the 2026 Bruin Youth Programming schedule, record-shaped “Make More Music” coasters, a fall-registration radio advertisement and a social-media post about the familiar “Michael Loves Shannon” billboard.
The billboard post showed the well-known Battle Creek landmark before and after KCC refreshed the original graffiti design.
Bronze awards recognized promotional “Madballs” illustrations created by KCC Graphic Design alumnus Brandon Smith, newspaper inserts designed for Lakeview High School and a postcard explaining the college’s fall application deadline.
The winning projects ranged from practical student information to playful local imagery, showing how the college uses design and storytelling to connect campus programs with the wider community.
KCC said its Marketing and Communications Department handles strategy, public relations, advertising, graphic design, print services, social media and the college’s online presence.
The department is part of the Communications and Advancement Division led by Vice President Eric Greene.
The latest recognition adds to a long run of industry honors for the Battle Creek-based team.
Since 2012, the department has earned 111 Medallion Awards and 33 national Paragon Awards, according to the college.
NCMPR represents marketing and public-relations professionals at community and technical colleges across the United States and Canada.
Its District 3 includes colleges in Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Wisconsin and Ontario, and the 2026 finalist list documents KCC’s winning entries.
