Arctic Air Lingers: Battle Creek Braces for Another Frigid Week
Overnight lows stay in the single digits as a series of light snow showers keeps the Cereal City white.
February is making its presence felt early in Battle Creek, as we settle into a week of classic Michigan winter.
While we aren't tracking any major blizzards this time around, the headline for the next seven days is the persistent, bone-chilling cold that refuses to budge.
The week starts with heavy cloud cover and light snow chances on Wednesday and Thursday. As we move into Friday, expect a brief "warm-up" to 34°F accompanied by morning snow, but don't let that deceive you.
A secondary cold front will slam into the region late Friday night, sending temperatures plummeting to a biting 4°F. Saturday will be the coldest day of the stretch, with a high of only 19°F and an overnight low of 3°F.
There is a bright spot on the horizon: Sunday looks to be a beautiful, crisp day with full sunshine, though you’ll still need the heavy parka with a high of only 25°F.
By next Tuesday, we might see some light rain as temperatures finally nudge back toward the mid-30s.
Keep your shovels handy for the dusting of snow mid-week, and make sure those bird feeders are full, it’s going to be a frosty one! |
