Backyard Burger & Brewfest Brings Together Flavor, Fun, and Community |
This week’s food review took us out of the restaurant scene and into the heart of downtown Battle Creek, where the Backyard Burger & Brewfest brought the community together for an evening of food, music, and fun.
Events like this remind me why I love Battle Creek.
The streets were lined with food trucks and vendors offering everything from comfort food to creative bites.
The hardest part wasn’t finding something good, it was narrowing down the choices.
With so many tempting options, you almost wished you had room to try them all.
My wife and daughter decided on burgers from Farm to Fork, and they were not disappointed. Juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right, these burgers truly lived up to their name.
Meanwhile, I teamed up with another gentleman in our group and went for barbecued pork sandwiches from D's N C’s Barbecue.
Tender, smoky, and perfectly sauced, they hit the spot in every way.
But I couldn’t stop there. Lady Gumbo was impossible to ignore, so I treated myself to a steaming bowl of shrimp gumbo.
Rich, spicy, and loaded with flavor, it was easily one of the highlights of the evening.
Of course, no festival food adventure is complete without dessert. We wrapped up the night with slices of cheesecake from Specialty Cheesecake Dessert Company.
Smooth, creamy, and decadent, it was the perfect sweet ending to a flavorful night.
Adding to the atmosphere, a live band played in the background as families, friends, and neighbors filled the downtown streets.
The music, the food, and the energy of the crowd made it clear that Battle Creek knows how to throw a party.
If you missed it this year, mark your calendar for the next one. Trust me, you’ll want to come hungry. |
