Calhoun County to Offer Free Fall Scrap Tire Collections
Residents can dispose of up to 10 scrap tires at no cost in Marshall and Tekonsha this fall
Calhoun County residents, get ready to clean out those old tires! The county is offering two free scrap tire collection events this fall, giving you a chance to dispose of up to 10 passenger vehicle tires at no cost.
Marshall Collection - Registration Required
The first collection event will take place in Marshall on September 25, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Important: Registration is required for the Marshall event. Residents must sign up in advance by completing an online form at tinyurl.com/4y54tyvy or by calling the Community Development Office at 269-969-6395.
The exact collection location will be provided only to registered participants.
Tekonsha Collection - First Come, First Served
The second collection event will be held in Tekonsha on October 26, 2026, from noon to 5 p.m., or until the trailer reaches capacity.
This event will take place at the Tekonsha Village Offices, located at 537 N. Church St. No registration is required for the Tekonsha event.
What You Need to Know
Limits: • Up to 10 passenger vehicle scrap tires per participant • Commercial business and farm tires will NOT be accepted
Preparation: • Remove rims from tires before arrival • Ensure tires are free of mud and stones
Requirements: • Must be a Calhoun County resident • Participants must remain in their vehicles at collection sites
Grant-Funded Initiative
This program is funded through an EGLE (Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy) Scrap Tire Grant, making it possible for residents to dispose of tires properly at no cost while helping keep our community clean.

We hear you—unfortunately, the grant funding only covers passenger vehicle tires, so farm and commercial tires can't be accepted at these events.
