Melinda Weaver, the Calhoun County Treasurer, has been honored with the Service Award from the Association of Public Treasurers of the United States and Canada.
This accolade highlights her unwavering commitment to the treasury profession and her significant contributions to public finance.
The award was presented during the association's annual conference in July.
Weaver's journey in the treasurer's office spans over a decade, culminating in her appointment as treasurer in May 2025.
Her extensive experience and passion for public service have garnered respect both locally and nationally.
"This national recognition is a testament to Melinda’s dedication not only to Calhoun County but also to the broader treasury community," remarked Derek King, Chairperson of the Calhoun County Board of Commissioners.

In related community developments, the Calhoun County Land Bank Authority has initiated construction on two single-family homes in Battle Creek, aiming to provide affordable housing for lower-income buyers.
Additionally, Consumers Energy has broken ground on a new solar farm in Calhoun County, expected to produce 360 megawatts of electricity by summer 2026, enough to power nearly 70,000 homes and businesses.
