BCAAR Opens Applications for 2026 Grants Aimed at Housing and Community Initiatives |
The Battle Creek Area Association of REALTORS® (BCAAR) has announced the return of its Community Grant Program, inviting applications from local nonprofit organizations dedicated to enhancing housing, community impact, and basic needs within Calhoun County.
Since its inception in 2005, this initiative has awarded over $239,500 to various community projects. In 2025 alone, BCAAR distributed $35,500 to organizations such as Disability Network of Southwest Michigan, Gracious Homes Inc., Habitat for Humanity BC, Haven of Rest Ministries, S.A.F.E. Place, and the South Michigan Food Bank.
"Our members are deeply rooted in this community, and their generosity fuels the impact of this grant program," stated Amanda Lankerd, CEO of BCAAR. "By supporting organizations that meet essential needs and expand access to housing, we’re investing in the long-term well-being of families across Calhoun County."
Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations in good standing, located in Calhoun County, and serving its residents. Projects should align with at least one of BCAAR’s focus areas: housing-related initiatives, community impact/enhancement, or basic needs.
Grant awards are determined based on project scope, impact, and available funding, with past recipients receiving amounts ranging from $850 to $15,000. Full funding is not guaranteed, and partial awards may be granted.
Applications are available online and must be submitted by noon on February 2, 2026. For questions regarding grant proposals, interested parties can contact BCAAR at staff@bcaar.com or call 269-962-5193.
In addition to the grant program, BCAAR continues to offer free homeownership workshops in collaboration with local community partners. These sessions cover topics such as building generational wealth, renting vs. owning, the lending process, financing options, and the home buying roadmap. The next workshop is scheduled for Monday, November 3, 2025, at Washington Heights United Methodist Church in Battle Creek. Interested individuals are encouraged to RSVP by contacting BCAAR.
Through these initiatives, BCAAR remains committed to fostering a vibrant and thriving real estate community, supporting both professionals and residents in Calhoun County. |
