The Battle Creek Police Department is reaching out to the community for assistance regarding recent events at Leila Arboretum.
On October 2, a concerned citizen reported a man exhibiting unsettling behavior, including loitering and closely observing female visitors. In response, the BCPD Fusion Center and Detective Bureau initiated surveillance operations.
During the operation, an undercover female detective was approached by the suspect. Surveillance units promptly intervened, leading to the man's arrest. He is currently held at the Calhoun County Jail.
To maintain the integrity of the ongoing investigation, authorities have not released the suspect's physical description. However, they urge anyone who observed suspicious behavior at the arboretum, particularly involving a man monitoring or following others, to come forward.
