City partners with Springfield Do-it Center to help neighbors spruce up their homes at no cost

Spring has arrived in Battle Creek, and that means it is time to freshen up the outside of your home. The good news? The City of Battle Creek is offering up to 10 gallons of free exterior paint to qualifying homeowners through their annual Paint Program.
This program is a fantastic way to improve your home's appearance, boost curb appeal, and help keep our neighborhoods looking their best ... all without spending a penny on paint.
Who Qualifies?
The Paint Program is open to homeowners who meet these simple requirements:
• You must own and live in the home
That last point is important. This program is for everyone who qualifies, regardless of income level.
What You Get
The city provides approved applicants with:
• Up to 10 gallons of exterior paint
What You Need to Do
You provide the labor, tools, and any additional supplies needed for your project. Paint must be used for exterior projects only, and you have 60 days from receiving your voucher to complete the work. Once finished, you will need to schedule a final inspection by calling 269-966-3311.
How to Apply
Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. You can apply online through the city's Paint Program page, or in person at City Hall, Room 117, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can also drop applications in the blue drop box in the City Hall parking lot or mail them to Code Compliance Paint Program, 10 N.
