Battle Creek-based WK Kellogg Co partners with Toy Story 5 for nostalgic promotion starting April 26

For the first time in more than a decade, Kellogg's is putting playable toys inside cereal boxes. The Battle Creek-based WK Kellogg Co announced the promotion this week, tying it to the upcoming Toy Story 5 movie release on June 19, 2026.
The special edition boxes feature a throwback design reminiscent of the 1980s and 90s, when cereal prizes were a breakfast table staple. Starting Sunday, April 26, shoppers nationwide will find these limited-edition boxes at most retailers carrying Kellogg's products.
"At Kellogg's, there's a real sense of childhood nostalgia tied to the moments families remember most ... and breakfast is a big part of that," said Laura Newman, VP Brand Marketing at WK Kellogg Co. "Bringing toys back inside the box reintroduces that sense of discovery through a simple, screen-free moment of play that parents can now share with their own kids."
What's Inside the BoxesEight classic Kellogg's cereals are part of the promotion:
Depending on the cereal, boxes will contain toys, special spoons, trading cards, or movie ticket promotions. The variety echoes the classic era when families collected cereal prizes week after week.
Local Connection to Battle CreekWK Kellogg Co, headquartered at 1 Kellogg Square in downtown Battle Creek, was formed in October 2023 when the original Kellogg Company split its North American cereal business. The company was acquired by Ferrero (the maker of Nutella) in September 2025 for $3.1 billion.
The return of cereal box toys marks a nostalgic moment for the 119-year-old company founded by W.K. Kellogg in 1894. Battle Creek has been the company's home since 1906.
