A 31-year-old man is dead and a 31-year-old woman is in custody following a shooting Sunday afternoon in Battle Creek. The Battle Creek Police Department responded to reports of a shooting at a home near South Ridgeway Drive and Country Club Boulevard shortly after 4:30 p.m. on April 12, 2026.
Officers arrived to find the male victim inside the residence with a gunshot wound to the upper torso. Emergency responders attempted life-saving measures, but the man died at the scene.
