Calhoun County Sheriff's Office Executes Search Warrant Leading to Arrest |
A 35-year-old man from Pennfield Township has been arrested after an investigation into the electronic distribution of child sexual abuse material, as reported by the Calhoun County Sheriff's Office.
Detectives identified the suspect and secured a search warrant for his residence. On October 6, members of the Calhoun County Sheriff's Office Special Response Team, along with detectives, executed the warrant, resulting in the man's arrest without incident.
The investigation received support from the Albion Department of Public Safety and the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi Police Department.
In a statement, the sheriff's office emphasized their commitment to addressing such serious cases, stating, "The Calhoun County Sheriff's Office takes these disturbing cases seriously and remains dedicated to getting offenders off the streets and away from our children." The case remains under investigation, with formal charges to be pursued through the Calhoun County Prosecutor's Office.

In related developments, on August 7, 2025, the Calhoun County Sheriff's Office arrested a 32-year-old man from Arkansas and a 29-year-old woman from Pennfield Township in connection with a criminal sexual conduct investigation. Both were charged with multiple counts, including Criminal Sexual Conduct - 1st Degree, Child Abuse - 2nd Degree, and Kidnapping. This investigation was initiated based on information from authorities in Indiana and is still ongoing.
