Petco Announces Store Closures Nationwide, Including Michigan |
Battle Creek Location Remains Open Amidst Company Restructuring |
Petco, a leading pet supply retailer, has announced plans to close 25 stores across the United States in 2025, mirroring the number of closures from the previous year.
This decision comes as the company faces a 2.3% decline in net sales, totaling $1.5 billion for the second quarter, and a 1.4% drop in comparable sales.
Despite these challenges, Petco's CEO, Joel Anderson, remains optimistic, stating, "The first half of this year established a solid foundation for our transformation as we continued to strengthen our economic model and improve retail operating fundamentals."
Among the affected locations is the store in Roseville, Michigan, situated at 32074 Gratiot Avenue.
However, the Petco store in Battle Creek, located at 12765 Harper Village Drive #140, continues to operate as usual.
This store offers a range of services, including full-service grooming, dog training, a vaccination clinic, and an aquatics department. Operating hours are Monday through Saturday from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
The Battle Creek community has expressed relief that their local Petco remains unaffected by the closures.
Pet owners in the area continue to rely on the store for quality products and services for their beloved animals.
As the company navigates its restructuring efforts, the Battle Creek location stands as a testament to Petco's commitment to serving its customers.
