Welcome to April! Spring break is in full swing, and the local calendar is overflowing with family-friendly activities, massive casino concerts, and the return of community craft shows.

 

Whether you're hunting for Easter eggs, shopping for a new hot tub, or checking out the local open mic scene, the next two weeks are completely booked.

 

Here is your guide to the action.

 

Week 1: Pop-Rock, Crafts & Easter Egg Hunts (Apr 1 – 7)

We kick off the month with early 2000s nostalgia and a massive Saturday packed with Easter egg hunts and local artisan crafting.

 

  • Spring Break Carnival in the Shops

    • When: Wednesday, Apr 1 & Thursday, Apr 2 | 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM

    • Where: Downtown Marshall

    • The Scoop: The fun continues for the kids! Bring them downtown to participating shops for carnival games and prizes during the final days of their staycation.

 

  • The All-American Rejects

    • When: Thursday, Apr 2 | 8:00 PM

    • Where: FireKeepers Casino Hotel

    • The Scoop: Bring back the early 2000s pop-rock vibes with a huge show at the casino event center. "Gives You Hell" live? Yes, please.

 

  • Homer School's 2nd Annual Spring Craft Show

    • When: Saturday, Apr 4 | 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM

    • Where: Homer Community Schools

    • The Scoop: Support local crafters and artisans at this fantastic spring show! There will be plenty of unique finds, so make sure to stop by the Every Little Thing for Dolls booth to say hi to Nancy Sutherland and check out her incredible handmade doll clothes.

 

  • Easter Egg Hunts Galore!

    • When: Saturday, Apr 4

    • Where: Battle Creek & Marshall

    • The Scoop: Grab your baskets! It's a huge morning for egg hunts.

      • Battle Creek Harley-Davidson: Hosting their "Easter Eggstravaganza" starting at 10:30 AM (featuring a kids' outdoor hunt and an adult in-store golden egg hunt).

 

      • Cornwell's Turkeyville: Hosting their massive annual hunt (Pre-registration required).

      • Invigorating Touch: Hosting their Annual Easter Egg Hunt in Battle Creek.

 

  • Monthly Open Mic at UpRoot

    • When: Sunday, Apr 5 | 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM

    • Where: UpRoot Market

    • The Scoop: Wind down your weekend by supporting local musicians and spoken-word artists at this relaxed community gathering.

 

Week 2: Symphonies, Spas & Aviation (Apr 8 – 14)

After the Easter weekend, we pivot to major regional expos, classical music, and a high-flying community tradition.

 

  • Master Spas Expo 2026

    • When: Friday, Apr 10 – Sunday, Apr 12

    • Where: Kellogg Arena

  • Battle Creek Symphony: Symphony 5 - American Dream
