Teen Arrested in Springfield DoorDash Driver Robbery Investigation

A 16-year-old Battle Creek-area teen has been arrested in connection with the reported robbery of a DoorDash delivery driver in Springfield, according to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office.

The arrest is the latest development in an investigation that began early Sept. 23 on Barberry Drive near Tony Tiger Trail, off West Dickman Road.

Deputies said the driver had been sent to the area for what investigators described as a fictitious pizza order.

After the driver arrived, a person approached, allegedly threatened to shoot the driver and took the food before leaving the area.

The driver was not injured, officials said.

Deputies initially used a police dog to search the area but did not locate a suspect.

They later released surveillance images and asked the public for help identifying the person they were seeking.

Authorities said tips from the public helped identify the teen.

He was arrested without incident around midday Wednesday in the 100 block of Freedom Lane in Battle Creek and was taken to the Calhoun County Youth Center, according to officials.
