$1.028 Million Grant Supports Albion and Homer Home Repairs
Eligible homeowners may receive up to $25,000 for health and safety improvements while funding lasts

A $1.028 million housing grant will support minor home repairs for eligible homeowners in the City of Albion and Village of Homer.
The Calhoun County Land Bank Authority received Community Development Block Grant funding to address health and safety concerns in owner-occupied homes.
Nearly $843,000 is designated for repair projects, with the remaining funding supporting program administration.
Officials anticipate completing about 34 projects, and individual households may qualify for up to $25,000 depending on the work and program requirements.
Applicants must own and occupy a single-family home in Albion or Homer, have owned and lived in the property for at least 12 months, and have household income at or below 80% of Area Median Income.
Funding is limited, and applications are handled on a first-qualified basis.
The program is available through February 2028 while money remains, making early review of the requirements important for homeowners with urgent repair needs.
Required records can include ownership documents, current property-tax and homeowners-insurance information, income verification and financial statements.
The assistance is intended for health and safety work rather than ordinary cosmetic upgrades.
