Located at 36 W. Michigan Avenue in the heart of downtown Battle Creek, The Cricket has become a beloved gathering place with a rich history and vibrant energy.
Officially opened in 2009 by Jeff Adams, The name “The Cricket” is a nod to both the classic dart game and Adams’ father, who famously sold crickets as bait during the Great Depression.
The club quickly gained a reputation for its welcoming atmosphere, signature craft cocktails, and its standout feature, a hand-crafted 90-foot cherry-wood bar, one of the longest in Michigan.
With over 30 beers on tap, six regulation dart boards, and two floors of space (including an upstairs lounge for private events), The Cricket has become a staple of Battle Creek nightlife.
Now owned by Jeremy Kanaga & family, The Cricket remains committed to quality, community, and local culture. From live music and live comedy events, to themed parties and fundraisers, it continues to be more than just a bar — it’s a community hub with deep roots and lasting character.
