Mastering the Art of Expansion

Chapters 7 & 8 of The Big Leap

This week, we wrap up our journey through The Big Leap by exploring two of the most powerful chapters, where Gay Hendricks teaches how to live fully in your Zone of Genius and sustain your growth without slipping back into old patterns.

Chapter 7 – Living in Continuous Expansion

Hendricks reminds us that growth isn’t a one-time event—it’s a way of being. When we expand into greater success, love, and creativity, our upper-limit patterns often try to pull us back. The solution is awareness.
He suggests noticing subtle signs—like tension, procrastination, or unnecessary conflict—as cues that you’re hitting your upper limit. Instead of shrinking, breathe, smile, and say, “I’m expanding into more love, abundance, and ease.” Each time you consciously choose expansion over contraction, you re-train your mind to feel safe in success.

Chapter 8 – The Zone of Genius Lifestyle

In this final chapter, Hendricks challenges us to make genius living a daily commitment. That means structuring life so you spend more time doing what energizes you and less time in obligation or fear. He encourages setting clear boundaries, saying “no” to what doesn’t align, and “yes” to what lights you up.
The reward? A sense of flow, joy, and fulfillment that no external achievement alone can provide.

This week, reflect on how you can protect your Zone of Genius—and remember: your biggest leap isn’t a single jump; it’s a lifetime of choosing expansion.

Next week, we’ll start our new book—How Successful People Think by John C. Maxwell

Thinking for Success

Introducing How Successful People Think by John C. Maxwell

As we close out The Big Leap and all we’ve learned about breaking through upper limits, this month we shift gears to explore the power of mindset with John C. Maxwell’s How Successful People Think.

Maxwell teaches that success isn’t just about what we do, it’s about how we think.

The world’s most effective leaders and achievers develop specific thinking habits that help them see opportunities, solve problems creatively, and make better decisions.

In this book, we’ll explore eleven key thinking skills that can dramatically improve how we approach life and work, including:

  • Big-Picture Thinking – Seeing beyond the moment to understand long-term impact.

  • Focused Thinking – Channeling your attention where it matters most.

  • Creative Thinking – Challenging assumptions and generating fresh ideas.

  • Reflective Thinking – Learning and growing from past experiences.

This month, we’ll take these lessons one section at a time, learning how to think smarter, act with intention, and lead ourselves and others more effectively.

Get ready for a fresh mindset — because when we change our thinking, we change our results.
