An unlicensed juvenile driver is in custody after losing control and crashing into a house in Battle Creek on Saturday.

The incident occurred just before 2 p.m. near Post Avenue and Illinois Street.

A male juvenile was driving at a high rate of speed without a license when he lost control of the vehicle, left the road and crashed into the front porch of a house, according to City of Battle Creek officials.

The homeowner, who was inside at the time of the crash, was not hurt. Emergency responders treated the vehicle passenger for a minor head injury.

Driver Arrested

Battle Creek Police Department officers found the vehicle resting on the house front porch when they arrived. The driver was later arrested for reckless driving and driving while unlicensed.
