No One Hurt After Gun Is Discharged at Battle Creek Elementary School

No students were injured after a firearm was discharged at Ann J. Kellogg Elementary School in Battle Creek on Sept. 22, according to information released by the city.

Officials said a third-grade student brought the firearm to school and it discharged in a hallway. A staff member immediately secured it. The school was placed on lockdown, and police responded at about 8:30 a.m.; the lockdown later ended.
