Local singer-songwriter set to showcase his talents on national stage

Jack Austin, a 22-year-old singer-songwriter from Battle Creek, is set to captivate audiences nationwide as a contestant on the upcoming season of 'The Voice' on NBC.
Austin, a Lakeview High School graduate and current student at Western Michigan University, announced his participation via social media, expressing excitement about this significant opportunity.
His journey in music has been marked by notable achievements. In 2024, Austin's single 'Get Away' earned him the Rock Song of the Year award at the Josie Music Awards, held at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. This accolade highlights his growing influence in the independent music scene.
Beyond his solo career, Austin is deeply committed to fostering local talent. He founded the Unity Theatre Company in Battle Creek, collaborating with Kellogg Community College to mentor young performers in staging full-length Broadway productions within weeks. This initiative earned a nomination for Music Business of the Year at the Josie Music Awards.
Austin's versatility extends to acting, with performances in 'Legally Blonde' at Western Michigan University and at the historic Barn Theatre in Augusta. He also starred in the musical 'Boy on Billboard' in Texas, a production that later debuted in New York City.
His dynamic presence on social media, particularly on TikTok, has garnered over 50 million views and a substantial following, showcasing his broad appeal and connection with fans.
