As winter tightens its grip on West Michigan, ski enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the opening of several local resorts.
Bittersweet Resort in Otsego has announced it will open its slopes today, December 5, at 3 p.m.
The resort boasts 20 runs, six chair lifts, three wonder carpets, and two tow ropes, offering a variety of options for skiers and snowboarders.
Timber Ridge Ski Area, located in Gobles, has been diligently making snow since late November.
While an official opening date has not been set, the resort aims to welcome skiers and snowboarders by the weekend of December 13-14.
In the meantime, Timber Ridge will open for tubing this weekend, December 6-7, providing an alternative winter activity for visitors.
Cannonsburg Ski Area in Belmont is targeting an opening date of Friday, December 12.
However, factors such as snow depth and weather conditions could influence this timeline.
Patrons are encouraged to check the resort's official channels for the most up-to-date information.
Swiss Valley Ski & Snowboard Area in Jones has not yet announced an official opening date.
However, the resort has been preparing for the season with several upgrades, including two new magic carpet lifts, a redesigned beginner area, and enhanced snowmaking capabilities.
These improvements aim to provide an enhanced experience for visitors once the resort opens.
