Battle Creek and communities throughout Calhoun County are heading into a busy stretch of spring events as warmer weather finally settles into Southwest Michigan.

From farmers markets and food truck rallies to community gatherings and Memorial Day weekend activities, there will be plenty happening between May 13 and May 27 for residents looking to get out and enjoy the season.

One of the biggest recurring attractions continues to be the BC Farmer’s Market at Festival Market Square.

Held weekly on Wednesdays, the market brings together local farmers, bakers, artisans, and small businesses offering fresh produce, flowers, handmade goods, and specialty foods.

It’s become a favorite stop for many local families looking to support area vendors while enjoying the downtown atmosphere.

Food lovers will also want to mark their calendars for Truckin’ Tuesdays at McCamly Park on May 19.

The lunchtime food truck rally has quickly become a popular downtown tradition, giving visitors the chance to sample a variety of local food vendors in one location while enjoying outdoor dining and live community energy.

Fitness and community spirit will combine on May 17 during the DENSO Spring Hula Hustle 5K Fun Run.

The event welcomes runners, walkers, families, and community members for a lighthearted spring-themed race designed to bring people together while promoting healthy activity.

As Memorial Day weekend approaches, many additional events, restaurant specials, live entertainment nights, spring markets, and outdoor gatherings are expected to pop up throughout Battle Creek, Marshall, Albion, and surrounding communities.

Local organizers continue adding events to online calendars as the season ramps up.

The coming weeks are shaping up to be a strong reminder that spring event season is officially underway in the Cereal City and throughout Calhoun County.

Whether you’re looking for fresh food, family activities, shopping, entertainment, or simply a reason to get out of the house after a long Michigan winter, there will be no shortage of opportunities to explore the area.

Residents are encouraged to check local event calendars regularly as new activities continue being added throughout the month.
