Katie was inspired to be a nurse practitioner by her mother, who is also a nurse practitioner at Bronson. Katie fell in love with cardiology in nursing school and it has been her main focus for the majority of her career. In her free time, Katie enjoys spending time with her family, watching her boys play sports, boating, playing golf and volunteering as a sports coach. I enjoy spending time with my patients to make sure they understand their health conditions and empowering them to make an impact on their overall health. I'm here to support my patients while giving them the tools to reach their health goals.

Sean Cameron has always been interested in science and technology and simply fascinated by human anatomy and physiology. When he realized he could unite these interests - by becoming part of a team that shared these interests while helping people every day - he was sold on becoming a physician assistant. Sean says it's gratifying to continue to amass medical knowledge, learn new skills and to continue to grow as a provider; it's also rewarding to be able to use the information and skills to help improve people's lives. According to Sean, his parents were the biggest influence in his life. They always believed in him, supported him, and pushed him to be the best version of himself.

Dr Smith attributes her childhood experiences—growing up on a rural farm in South Korea and living in many different towns as a military family—that sparked her interest in medicine. In particular, the health and healthcare disparities in different communities motivated her to become engaged in this field. Cardiovascular medicine is an ever-changing field. Dr Smith enjoys coming to work each day ready to bridge the gap between evidence-based medicine and clinical care, so that the patients can have a better quality of life. Dr Smith credits her physician mentors as the biggest influence in her life.

Medicine has always been a part of Dr Iliev’s life and, as a general cardiologist, he serves people who might not otherwise have access to specialized care. Dr Iliev wants to help people maintain their quality and quantity of life by helping them manage and prevent cardiovascular disease. The ability to help people is what excites him about coming to work each day, as well as the opportunity to guide them through prevention, diagnosis and treatment while caring for them like family. “The personal and professional connections are priceless,” he explains. From a very young age, Dr Iliev observed his father, who worked as a doctor. He was inspired by how his father was able to make people feel better and give them hope.

Sheena was raised from infancy by her maternal grandmother after the passing of her mother. Being raised solely by her divorced grandmother instilled in her the values of family, persistence, and striving to be your best. Sheena became a nurse to help those in need. As her nursing career continued, she decided she wanted to further her education and become a nurse practitioner. She chose a focus of adult-gerontology with a special interest in wound care. Sheena considers chronic wound care to be a challenging area of medicine, one that will allow her to expand her skills while providing personalized care for her patients. She considers her current position in the wound center to be her dream job.
