We're looking for two Battle Creek-area businesses to help test our new employer hiring submission system before we open it to the entire community.

Cereal City Buzz Is Building a New FREE Way to Help Local Businesses Find Employees!

Helping Local Businesses Find Local Employees

At Cereal City Buzz, one of our biggest goals has always been to make our community a better place to live, work, and do business.

Every week, our Jobs Hiring Now article brings together employment opportunities from businesses throughout Battle Creek, Marshall, Albion, and surrounding Calhoun County communities.

It's become one more way we can help local residents discover opportunities while supporting the businesses that keep our local economy moving.

But along the way, we discovered something we needed to improve.

Local Businesses Have Been Asking to Be Included

Over time, we've heard from local businesses that wanted to know how they could get their job openings included in our weekly hiring roundup.

And we wanted to help!

The challenge was that our weekly jobs article was built around an automated system that searched for current job openings from established sources.

While that system worked well for finding many available positions, it wasn't originally designed to easily accept requests from individual employers.

That meant some smaller businesses, family-owned operations, and local companies could be hiring without ever appearing in our weekly roundup.

We knew there had to be a better way.

We've Made Some Changes ... And They're Working!

We're excited to share that we've developed a new process that allows us to add individual local employers to our hiring information system.

And we've already had our first success!

One local business that requested inclusion has now been added, and its available hiring information appears to be coming through successfully in our weekly checks.

That's an encouraging first step.

But before we open the service to every business in the area, we want to make sure the process works reliably for different kinds of employers.

And that's where we're asking for a little help from our local business community.

We're Looking for TWO Local Businesses to Help Us Test!

ARE YOU CURRENTLY HIRING?

Cereal City Buzz is looking for two additional Battle Creek-area employers willing to help us test our new hiring submission process.

There's absolutely no charge to participate!

We're especially interested in hearing from smaller local businesses that may not always show up in the larger online job searches.

Maybe you're a restaurant looking for a cook or server.

Perhaps you're a contractor who needs another crew member.

You might operate a retail store, professional office, manufacturing business, or another local company that's ready to grow.

Whatever your business, if you're actively hiring, we'd love to hear from you!

What Information Will We Need?

To participate in our initial testing, we'll ask for a few simple details:

1. Your business name - The name of your company or organization.

2. Your business location - The city or community where the available jobs are located.

3. Your name - The person we can contact about your hiring information.

4. Your email address - So we can reach you if we need to verify anything.

5. Positions you're hiring for - The job titles or types of work available.

6. A public hiring or application link - A website or online job posting where applicants can learn more and apply.

You can also provide a phone number, employment type, pay information, and other helpful details if you'd like.

The most important thing is that your job openings are current and that interested applicants have a reliable way to learn more or apply.

What Happens After You Submit?

We'll add your business to our employer review system and check whether your available positions can be verified.

As we prepare our weekly Jobs Hiring Now articles, we'll review the information to see which opportunities qualify for inclusion.

During this testing period, we'll also be checking how well the new system handles employer submissions, identifies current openings, and keeps outdated information from appearing.

Participation is free, and all published job opportunities remain subject to verification and editorial review. Being part of the test does not guarantee that every opening will appear.

Our Bigger Goal: A FREE Hiring Resource for the Entire Community

If this next round of testing goes well, our goal is to open the employer submission service to businesses throughout Battle Creek and the surrounding Calhoun County area ... completely FREE.

No advertising fees.

No paid listing requirements.

No expensive promotional packages.

Just a simple way for local employers to let us know they're hiring and have their openings considered for our weekly community jobs roundup.

We believe that helping businesses find good employees and helping local residents find meaningful work is something that benefits everyone.

And it's exactly the kind of community service we want Cereal City Buzz to be known for.

Want to Be One of Our Two Test Businesses?

If your business is currently hiring and you'd like to help us test this new service, please contact Cereal City Buzz directly.

Let us know your business name, where you're located, and what positions you're looking to fill.

We'll follow up with the details and help you through the process.

We're only looking for two additional businesses during this initial testing period, but if everything works as expected, we hope to make this service available to the entire local business community soon.

Building a Stronger Battle Creek, One Connection at a Time

We're always looking for new ways to make Cereal City Buzz more than just a place to read local news.

We want it to be a place where neighbors connect, local businesses grow, families discover opportunities, and our entire community benefits.

Sometimes that means sharing a local event. Sometimes it's introducing readers to a great neighborhood restaurant. And sometimes it's helping someone discover their next job.

Because when we help local businesses succeed, we help Battle Creek succeed.

And that's something worth working toward.
