FireKeepers Evacuated After False Bomb Threat Near Battle Creek

FireKeepers Casino Hotel was evacuated after receiving a bomb threat shortly after midnight, prompting a search by casino security and law enforcement.

Officials later determined that the threat was false, and the Battle Creek-area casino returned to normal operations once the property was cleared.

No injuries, explosive device or continuing danger were reported in the available accounts.

Published reports disagree on the incident date.

One image caption identifies October 30th, 2026, while a syndicated incident report describes an evacuation early Saturday, October 31st, after a threat made shortly after midnight.

The discrepancy does not change the reported outcome: the search found no credible explosive threat.

The property is located at 11177 East Michigan Avenue in Emmett Township, just east of Battle Creek near Interstate 94 Exit 104.

FireKeepers is owned and operated by the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi and maintains its own security operation while coordinating with outside law enforcement when needed.

For emergencies involving an immediate danger to life or property, residents should call 911.

Calhoun County Consolidated Dispatch lists 269-781-0911 for non-emergency police, fire and medical requests.

Calhoun County Emergency Management also encourages residents to use several alert sources, including the county’s free Rave Alert system.

Was the FireKeepers bomb threat credible?

No. Security and law enforcement searched the property and determined that the reported threat was false.

When did the FireKeepers evacuation happen?

Reports place it shortly after midnight but conflict between October 30th and early October 31st, 2026.

Did FireKeepers Casino reopen?

Yes. The casino returned to normal operations after authorities cleared the scene.
