After spending twelve years as a registered nurse, Sue went back to school to pursue her degree and become a nurse practitioner. She felt this would allow her to form deeper, more meaningful connections with her patients. Now she loves coming to work every day, where she has the opportunity to touch someone’s life – whether that be a patient, their loved ones or her coworkers. Sue has a special interest in breast cancer. She also actively volunteers at Bronson Battle Creek Cancer Care sponsored activities, such as the annual Survivors’ Celebration.

Theresa “Teri” wanted to be a nurse for most of her life. She spent 15 years as a registered nurse and while it was very rewarding, she felt like she wanted to do more. She chose to become a nurse practitioner to have a bigger impact on patients and their families. She loves the challenge of working with patients to set reasonable goals that work for them and their health needs. These goals usually go hand in hand with good education to ensure the patient understands what their condition is and why these goals are important. Healthcare can be incredibly intimidating and if Teri is able to help them feel less scared or frustrated, she feels that she has achieved her goal.

Thomas has always had a passion for healthcare sciences and helping those in need. He feels that neurology is an exciting field to be involved in because there are many new therapies to help patients. Thomas attributes his parents as being the biggest influence in his life. They taught him to live a life of compassion and the importance of service to others. When Thomas comes to work, he is most excited about seeing his patients each day and working with them to achieve their health goals. In his spare time, Thomas enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, biking, drawing, being outdoors and volunteering at a local food pantry.

Dr Cox feels honored to work with his patients and team up with them in their healthcare. He knows a cancer diagnosis is very emotional and wants to keep communication open with his patients. Dr Cox lost his mother at a young age to leukemia, sparking his passion for caring for those with cancer. He enjoys the opportunity to work with others who share his compassion for their patients. Dr Cox has special interest in GI tumors, breast cancer and lung cancer. To expand access to cancer care across southwest Michigan, Bronson has partnered with other hospitals in our region. As part of this collaboration, Dr Cox is currently seeing patients only in Coldwater and Marshall.
